Richtech Robotics and our joint venture, Zipphaus Plus, have introduced LA County’s first ADAM robot barista at Kaiser Permanente Hospital. This launch is a meaningful step toward bringing robotic café service to more hospitals, universities, airports, and other busy spaces across the country.
A New Kind of Café Experience
At Kaiser, staff and visitors can now grab a cup of coffee from ADAM, our AI-powered, dual-arm barista robot. ADAM is designed to make high-quality drinks with consistency and care, while working side-by-side with traditional café operations. Through Zipphaus’ food and beverage platform and the Proudly Pouring Peet’s Coffee program, ADAM has already been well-received since its August 15 debut.

First-of-Its-Kind Approval
The Kaiser installation also represents a regulatory milestone. The LA County Department of Public Health and the National Sanitation Foundation granted first-ever approval for a dual-arm robot barista café. This approval creates a pathway for robotic food and beverage operations to grow more easily across the U.S.

Looking Ahead
By the end of 2025, Zipphaus Plus plans to add more ADAM units at Kaiser facilities and begin rolling out to universities and airports. Working alongside Peet’s Coffee and Zipphaus, we’re building a café model that blends robotics with human expertise to make great coffee more accessible in the places people need it most.
